Bangkok day 1

I am back.
And I am glad to be back.
Singapore is such a wonderful place. It is. Trust me!

My itinerary for Bangkok trip
Day 1
Reach Singapore airport terminal 1 latest by 12pm (bcoz I need to shop there) -> Reach Bangkok at 3pm -> check-in hotel (will reach lets say 5pm latest) -> MBK for dinner & shopping -> Patpong night market

Day 2
Chutuchak market (section 20- 22 and section 9 for animals)-> Yaowarat (numsing for lunch and hair accesories wholesale plus cheap fish maw, abalone & birdnest) -> Siam Paragon & Siam Sq or centre (dinner and shopping for lingerie) -> Suan Lum Night bazzar

Day 3
Erawan Shrine (by Skytrain coz traffic jam on the morning) -> Central world (heard that lunch at sizzler is cheap) -> Wat Pho -> Grand Palace -> Wat Arun -> MBK (Japanese food is nice, manicure & pedicure) -> Platinum fashion mall (for shopping at wholesale price) -> Explore sukumivt

Day 4
Get to the airport latest by 12pm (lunch and shopping at DFS)

I am a genius. I plan that within half an hour ok!
Many of my friends went and enjoyed it but always told me that Bangkok doesn't suit me which is true I must say. Bangkok is like a gigantic bugis villiage and far east, I dun even shop at those places in Singapore man. The only place I enjoyed there is Siam Paragon and those downtown bangkok's shopping malls. The rest is a bit disaster for me.

Day 1
Suppose to go to the airport at 11pm but forgot to bring my accor gold card (for my hotel) so when it is about to reach the airport, turned back home to get it. But luckily still able to arrived early, checked in and went to DFS for shopping.

List of things to get:
6 Maybeline VolumExpress mascara (Checked)
2 Loreal double extension mascara (Checked)
2 Loreal SPF 50 sunblock (Checked)
2 Estee Lauder Lipstick (Checked)
1 Clinique Clarifying Lotion (Checked)
1 Clinique Pore minimizer (Checked )
1 SK II eye cream (Checked)
1 Laniege SPF 19 eye cream Not available :(
1 Biotherm 3 steps pore care Not available :(

Total bill: $330+ *faint*

Other things:
Swaroski pendent. 7% cheaper than retail store. WOOHOO...
So retail store is $270+ and in DFS is $230+

On the plane, I sat beside a guy who I tot is a Thai. When the food came, we got haagan diaz ice cream for dessert but Linda ones was a vanilla. So when the thai went to the toilet, I exchanged linda's vanilla with his one w/o him knowing obviously dude. hehe...

When he came back, he didn't realize the ice cream got exchange then being very guilty I helped him with some minor thing and he started talking to me NON-STOP. And he was a Indonesian but always stayed in Thailand and he started telling me where to go and visit (almost the same as my itinerary, I think Bangkok is that small).

He even told me dun board taxi in the airport bcoz it is very expensive, I should go up to the arrival hall where the taxi just dropped their passenger off. It will be cheaper.

At around 3.30pm thai time, we finally reached Bangkok. Look at the amount of tourists they have, super super crowded.

Welcome to Bangkok!

Their DFS. Super cool isn't it?

As we walked and walked like for the longest time, I realised all the tourists in front of us seemed to disappear. For fear that we missed the custom so I went up to the tourist information counter and asked the staff where the custom is and she told me this floor. So I asked her I just walk straight or what, and she stunned for like a 3seconds and replied me yes in the most un-sure tone I ever heard.

Oh what an answer.

I walk straight or what?
"Yes"

After reading the sign board, I realised that the custom is right beside the tourist information counter. Right beside ok!

Their new airport is amazingly big and you get lost easily man.

So when we about to get our taxi, a girl came and asked me where we were from, she is also from the same plane as us but she was travelling alone. Then I suggested we take the taxi together since pratunum is not far from sukumvit.

And Taxi driver is always a pain in the ass. There are many things you have to take note anw, firstly, some dun go by meter so if they dun go by meter then just let it passed and there are plenty of taxi left, secondly when you are in the taxi, you must make sure that they pressed the meter if not they will asked for a huge sum when they reached your destination, thirdly even they do not know the destination, they will say they know and got lost many times and lastly, they asked for tips, you must be prepared to have small change if not they will take it and not give you back the change assuming it is the tips.

You say pain in the ass anot?
Taking taxi is like so tiring and burdensome things to do there.

Anw, the girl is a taiwanese married to a singaporean husband but the husband is in Taiwan while she is in Singapore doing business in Bugis villiage. Very complicated background huh? So her purpose to bangkok is to get clothes to sell in bugis villiage and she gave me her number so I can contact her if i run into trouble in thailand or when I get back to Spore.

And the stupid driver dunno the way to my hotel after the girl left, then he circling for like what seems to be 10hours. When finally he reached the hotel, he wanted $500bahts from us but the meter shows $239baht leh. I am like WTH lah. He said (thru some sign language) that he had been circling so much so he must get more money. Then I told him "meter meter..." He just kept shaking his hand then I saw the traffic police so I quickly waved to them.

He thus took $300baht then quickly left bcoz we got no small change.

It not the money problem. Problem is he has been wasting our time so much, before I took his taxi I already told him I wanted to get to the hotel. He said, "OK OK SURE"

AND our friends who arrived this morning has been waiting for us lor.

I choose this hotel bcoz on the internet, it looks really nice cozy and slightly cheaper than the rest of the Accor Hotels plus our friends could not afford too expensive one. So $110 sing one night for a 3stars hotel is expensive, could hv live in a beta hotel.

I think is pretty nice and cosy. Looks alright too.

Our room. With Samsung white LCD somemore.
But when I stepped into the room, I saw hairs on the floor, obviously is not mine. And the toilet is a bit dirty too! Scary isn't it? I really very afraid of dirty hotel. Imgaine they didn't change the bedsheet all that.

After washing our face and cleaning up, we went to meet up with Li Xuan and Su Zhen aka AC (act cool) and AC's sis.

Then we proceeded to MBK for dinner.

Bangkok's taxi comes with all sort of colours, green, blue, red, yellow, purple and of course I love the pink one most.

In Bangkok, you dun have to wait for taxi bcoz the Taxi waits for you.
There are taxis everywhere and anywhere queueing up for you, you dun even have to wait for a few seconds.

MBK

I heard it is a very good place to shop but oh well, its really not for me.
The mall is full of fake designer goods and sorta like far east ice lemon tee that kind shop to me, selling almost identical things in every store.

We had our dinner at this chinese restaurant. Forgotten what it was called but the food was so-so and we ordered birdnest but the birdnest got no birdnest, its like birdnest water --_--.

Total bill: 2000bahts ++ which is S$100++ for 7dishes
Now, who told me the food is cheap??

After the dinner, we went for a bit of shopping then one of them tried on a pair of fake DVB jeans and it costs like 40 sing dollars and the lady said no haggling of price. Like we wanna haggle lidat, we could get that cheaper in Singapore, dun worry. The mall opens from 10am to 10pm but at 9pm, most of the stores were closed so we got nth to shop thus decided just leave the place.

Guess who we saw there when we left?
Its Michelle Chia and her xiao bai nian BF, Shuan Chen or whatever.
I think Michelle Chia could get someone beta than that. She is super petite and dun look as tall as she is on the TV. But got no star struck one leh.

Next stop: Patpong night market
Patpong is their red-light district. Thai-ger or tiger show is there and there are many go-go bars.

You can spot girls or transexual wearing bikini and g-string there, some of the prostitute on the street looking for customer and some in the go-go bar dancing. You can go to the bar but dun ever go to the tiger show, its super gross coz the girls who stripped are all aunties. Who wanna see aunties stripped sia?

This is Patpong. I think this city nv sleep too, unlike singapore, you got nth to do right after 10pm.

This is how the night market looks like. You think nice anot?

This is the place that your bargaining skill is put to use man.
Got this birkie-lookalike sandal selling at 1200bahts, siao right, I could get a real birkie with that price man.

Then my friend bargained till 200bahts. Mad anot you say?
From S$60 till S$10 leh.

Then another polo-tee selling at 1590 bahts. And guess what is the final price? 250bahts.
I dun like bargaining i think its so waste of time and i cant bargain for godsake so I just dun buy the things.

I was looking at this imitaion watch coz it seems really genuine then the lady approached me and quoted me 4900bahts so not intending to buy I just smiled and go but she grabbed me and asked me "ma-dumb (madam) what price what price? give me good price"

So trying to shake her off, I punched the calculator with a ridiculous price of 800bahts.
You know, 4900bahts and 800bahts is so far apart.

Then she started punching the calculator with different prices but I just walked away and she kept shouting behide me. Around five stores away from her, she was still shouting then suddenly she run towards me and handed me the watch. Meaning she agreed with 800bahts. Crazy anot you say lah?

But I really hate to go shopping with cheapo pple, pple who are stingy and or whatever you say, thrifty. I hate it, 10bahts 20bahts also wanna bargain. For godsake, that is like how many cents only please. Oh please? The amount of time you wasted is sooooo much ok.

And stop asking me to ask for the price and help you bargain man. I dun specialise in thai langauge ok.

Anw, there are many men standing holding a certain name card and when you walked pass, they will say like sexy, no clothes woman... They are actually asking you to go watch their thai-gers show.

There are also thai massage there in the shops or on the streets with small wooden chairs. Li Xuan and Su Zhen gave it a try but I didn't. The patpong night market is so big that we dun even know where we are and we didn't get to shop the whole area.

And went back to the hotel very exhausted at 1am, we gave up, its too big.
