Bangkok day 2

DAY 2

Rise and shine...
My bed was shaking/vibrating the whole night. Then I woke up and switched off the air-con and it stopped. But they reckon is the ghost kinda things.

We woke up at 8am, couldn't get use to it though it was 9am in Singapore. Its been so long since I woke up so early and my legs were aching from all the walking yesterday.

The weather is so dry that the skin on my face started to peel. And it was painful. Although, the weather is hot, my face doesn't get oily at all. All the pimples and zits got clear up immediately this morning.

But this doesn't apply to all, Linda got really oily skin the whole day.

The building that is facing our hotel room's window. Super nice eh.

Tried to get some breakfast but most of the shops didn't open so early. So I went to 7/11 and bought this ultra long sausage, its like the longest hotdog I ever seen leh. It costs only 22bahts, S$1+, cheap and it was really nice. And I had that for the next morning too.

At about 9.30am, we proceeded to the famous Chatuchak market.

Of course we went there by the taxi, I still think it is super tiring to take the taxi. I had to keep repeating where I wanna go bcoz they couldn't catch our accent. I can pronounce the thai accent beta than anyone can, the taxi driver couldn't understand the rest ok. Often, I was pushed to asked the taxi driver and they look really scary ok, I still have to stress "METER. *point at the meter*" The taxi driver looked even more angrier.

I think situation can change a person's personality man.

Chatuchak
Its a crazy place. Selling everything and anything.
Everyone went crazy when the sun is up, even the shopping queen Li Xuan gave up only after an hour, buying only a pair of shoes.

I even witnessed a couple (singaporean couple I think) quarrelling, something like the guy couldn't stand the heat and started to get a bit violent.

Crazy anot? I am not kidding when I said the heat is killing everyone.
Ang moh too cant stand the heat and shopped in their bikini.

Amazingly, I was really cool about it, perhaps I was prepared for it but turned out it wasn't that bad. I wasn't even sweating, you know, normally I sweat like a tap.

Selling nice artefacts. I wanted to buy the giraffe back but they said I am mad and told me that they wun help me with my lugguage. Oh well... I cant ride on the giraffe back right.

Super big buddha. The hair looks like it can hurt.

Look at how small the space or alley is and the place is fully NON-aircon. This is at 10am.

And this is at 11.30am, more and more tourists are flooding in.
Imagine the heat and the crowd.

Really nice organiser. I wanted to buy but decided not since I am gotta get my LV one.
But I kinda regret now, I still like it, so next time if you like something, just buy it man. Why go and think so much right?

The clock tower in between the market.
Yes yes... Look at the blazing sun.

At around 1pm, we think its time to go but decided to got to the pet section where cute animals are. But the whole market is freaking freaking big, I think Vivo City is much smaller. We have to keep asking the vendor where is the pet sections and to our horror no one understand English.

Then I resorted to use sign language and "meow... meow...".

So finally we got to the pets section.
OMG OMG OMG!

The puppies there are super super small, I bet they are like a can of drink that small.

Baby golden retriever. Aren't they cute?? OMG, OMG! They are super cute lah.
Golden retriever is the brightest dog in the whole world ok.
And this golden retriever was caught in action trying to jump out of the cage and he did it.
But the vendor caught him back, if not I could put him in my bag and carried it back to Singapore.

SO cute!

He look a bit sad but he is super active. Super super active
Kept jumping up and down then fell down then got up and jumped and jumped again. He could easily put your bad day into a good one man. You cant stop yourself from smiling silly.

Look at how small the puppies are. I bet its only one or two months old.
Bloody cute lah.

Slightly older dogs that no one wants. I dun mind them, just give it to me.

OMG OMG! SUPPPPPPPPer cute.
Look at how small they are. You could just squeeze them into a cup or what man.

Hello! Look much much cuter in person. And much much smaller tooooo.

Look at the amount of dogs they are selling.
I saw one husky, handsome one ok, also a puppy but I think its a pure torture keeping him in a small cage and the weather is so hot. Poor husky. I hope someone from Alaska could buy him and bring him back there.

And the puppy is so cheap, less than S$100 I think. But Singapore is selling like at least S$1000++, a little too expensive.

I wanted to get one back, but I read about getting animals back, they have to be quarantined at the AVA for at least 1 to 2mths paying around S$500 and the puppies are super weak so they may die easily. Thus, I decided not, I dunwan them to die.

Not only puppies, but bunnies, bird, parrots, cats, chipmunks and sickening hamsters.
I dun like hamsters, when we were small, everybody got hamsters as pet but I really think its sickening and childish.

The bunny is so poor thing, so hot and she gotta dress up like this.
Oh anw, why didn't they sell baby elephants?! I would gladly buy one.

Things got from Chatuchak:
1 pair of gym pants
10 pair of ankle socks
6 T-shirts (for all the guy friends)
1 Polo tee
3 T-shirts (for school)
1 leather bracelet
7 ear rings
1 pair pf gloves (for cooking)
3 pair of shorts
2 caps

The caps are the best buy. Love it man! The black with the red star is not cheap but the pink one costs only S$7.50. Cool!

S$500 spent just lidat, mainly on food and transport.

Anw I saw a lot of dresses, but I think its so low quality so I wun buy it.
Though I only wear my clothes for a few times and I stopped wearing it but I really dun like to buy low quality stuffs, bcoz you cant go out with an ease of mind seriously, later here tore, or there tore or whatever shit. Its stupid, I prefer forking out more money on good stuffs.

Enough of Chatuchak. We had lunch at Chinatown, Yaowarat.

The taxi driver all queueing up then when I told them Yaowarat, they quote me 300bahts. Some said need to get to the highway or what shit then I reckon we shouldn't ask those taxi that are queueing up. In the end, I get to my destination at 160bahts only, I gladly give the driver tips ok.

Yaowarat.
There was this very big golden buddha situated there thus I wanted to get down but the taxi driver couldn't understand English.

But luckily he put us down at Namsing, the restaurant we wanted to dine at.
Namsing was very famous among the tourist but seriously the food was ok only.
They order shark fins at S$75, but I didn't eat the shark fin bcoz 'oh pls Animal cruelty'. Dun laugh at me ok. I am doing my part for the animals. Those animals' fins were cut off, thrown back to the sea and they died painfully.

I ordered a red birdnest, yummy!
The bill came at S$200++. Whoever told me food there is cheap, it is not ok!

This is Chinatown:

Old street with lotsa old pple and a horrible dirty place.

Didn't I tell you old, dirty and full of old pple. And the stuffs they sell are a bit cheapo.

The stuffs they sell. Imagine me buying that!!??
And pple in the chinatown doesn't speak chinese.
So why are they in Chinatown anw?

New York Chinatown speaks chinese eh.
But minority of Thai knows Teochew. Why?

They sell really cheap Fish maw. But once they know you are tourist, they jet up the price.
I strongly recommend this place for old pple.

Us while waiting for the rest to finish shopping.

Then we chanced upon this store that sell thai snacks and tibits, and you can get to taste b4 buying. And we bought hell a lot from there. Imagine the shopping goods from chatuchak plus the hell lotsa tibits and snacks squeezing thru old dirty small alley with dirty old man. And lotsa beggar with no legs crawling at your leg area.

Not a very good experience eh.

IN Chinatown, they also sell hair accesories at wholesales price.
There was this small store selling watches, I stopped to look at it then the vendor guy asked me which one I like. He quoted me 300bahts but I told him I left with 100bahts then I wanted to walked away but he said he dun mind selling me 100bahts. Wahahaha S$5 for a nice watch.

Central
After what seems like forever, we went back to out hotel to put our shopping goods and bathe. We wanted to dine at Central World but the Taxi drove us to Central and we did not know the different between central and central world. A high-end departmental store so I was very grumpy about it coz I was under-dressed.

We settled our dinner at the restaurant inside the departmental store.
But the waitress's english was lousy, in the end, the dishes got wrong but cant be bothered to correct her as she doesn't know English anw. Another meal that cost aorund S$100

After dinner, is shopping for lingerie!! The happiest part in Bangkok...
The truimph bra I bought in Spore is around S$69 but they sell it at S$32. That's a huge different ok. The bra I wanted is selling S$79,90 in Spore and around S$63 in thailand so I bought one. In the end we bought 1 Wacoal sport bra, 1 Wacoal bra, 1 Truimph bra and 3 Jockey bikini undies.

We have a further discount of 5 +7%. You have to ask them for tax rebates if you are oversea as you are not a thai thus you are not entitled to pay the tax. You have to ask bcoz even if they knw you are a tourist they wun bother to give it to you. And bring a long your passport whenever you shop. Accumulate thru experience ok!

Suan Lum Night market.

Us usual, the taxi driver drove us dunno to where and asked us to have dinner there.
In the end we walked quite a distance to suan lum.

Suan Lum is almost like Chatuchak. Nth much also, and you have to bargain which is why it is so sickening. In chatuchak, you asked for discount, they will give you 10-20% and nth more after that. But here, you have to put your bargaining skill into it.

They sell lotsa nice lighting and furniture. Suan Lum is also freaking big, you have to get a map in order not to be lost there. I bought a small thai lamp back for my friends bday.

Stupid tuk tuk. Noisy and dirty. I seriously think pple who get tuk tuk to travel are sick in the mind. Isn't it like trishaw?

We tot its some hindu temple but turned out it is just a normal gate.

After passing thru the gate, we saw pple playing the cow riding. The guy is super muscular and good looking too but couldn't stay on the bull for long. AC wanted to play but luckily she didn't. Haha...

Dun believe:
Click to play and see for yourself.

He fallen off the bull after a while only.

They having German Beer Festival. Wanted to try some beer but the beer women weren't interested in serving us. Oh well. We are not white skin nor horny eh.

Suan Lum also having a super big food place. You can listen to the concert or watch live football. But if you want to buy food to eat, you still have to use coupon which mean you have to use cash to buy coupon. So mafan right?

And we finally found a currency exchange to change for more bahts. So cute right? Currency and ATM in a van lor.

When we were about to go home, they were still bargaining for a polo tee, I spotted this puppy. Super cute, he cant even walk properly bcoz he is too small. Then the vendor (puppy belongs to the vendor) asked us where we were from.

Him: Where you from?
Us: Singapore
Him: Do you like it (the puppy)?
Us: Yes of course
Him: you have one (meaning the puppy)?
Us: No!
Him: Why?
Us: Very Expensive
Him: how much?
Us: $1000
Him: Sing dollar??!!
Us: Ya!
Him: (looks as if Xmas was cancelled) *Swearing in thai

Then we went home by a Taxi and the Taxi driver is super errie thru out the whole journy he nv tok at all and just kept driving at real fast speed 110km/hr on those normal small road.

One thing I like about thai taxi is that they drive real fast, weave in and out of the traffic like nobody business. And their reaction is super fast, that require good skills. I am aspire to drive like them, super cool ok! When they change lane, they turned their steering wheel at 90degree, accelerate and gone. Cool eh?

They tailgate pple's car who is too slow, thus forcing pple to change lane for them to pass.

What is tokyo drift or initial D compared to them man. This is real stuff ok!

We went to explore our hotel area and there were freaking lotsa ang moh as it is the pub and clubbing area. Alcohol there is super cheap, anywhere is cheaper than in Singapore lah.

And you couldn't buy alcohol from 7/11 after 12pm, I am so puzzled as to why they did that. I think bcoz they dunwan to affect the clubbing area business.

Finally at 3am, we went back our hotel and fell asleep on my haunted bed.
