Bangkok day 3

Day 3

Oh gosh.
Day 3 is a hot hot day. We woke up at 8.30am and the night before, we slept at 3am, remember? So we were very tired. And worse, we have to take the skytrain and have to walk quite a distance to the station.

When we entered the station, we stood right at the end of the railway and then the train came and I was astonished by how short the train was. In the end, we have to run to the front to catch the train and I heard them complaining, "if the train is so short, why build the station/railway so long lah."

I perfectly agree with our prime minister that Singaporean will sure be recognised when they are oversea. Haha...

Erawan Shrine.
We mistaken the shrine with another one bcoz I was following the Malaysians in front of us.

This is the mistaken shrine. The Brahma is green in colour so its wrong.

This Brahma which is of gold is the right Erawan shrine but why do they build it so near right?! Pple get mixed up easily. At first when we reached there, there weren't much pple but by the time we bought the stuffs to pray, the places started flooded with lotsa Chinese, mainly Singaporean and Malaysians.

Anyway, 8yrs ago, there isn't any fences or protective barriers, you can even pastes the gold leaf or paper on the Brahma's faces. But now, after that infamous incident of that mentally unsound guy chopping off the heads of the Brahma, they built all that to keep the Brahma safe.

The dancers that dance non-stop. Hehe...

After dancing, there will be a 5mins break and you can see them rushed off to somewhere then come back. I think they go to the toilet. The dancers were very graceful and they have to sing out loud when they danced.

And then the elephants that you can feed the banana with:

-_-

There used to have real elephants ok. Every hindu temple in Thailand sure got an elephant outside one. But now, that area has been very commercialise and all the high-end shopping centres were situated there. Thus, elephants have to go.

But Li Xuan and AC & sis once walking back to the hotel late at night after the taxi driver chased them out of the taxi bcoz they remembered the wrong address, they saw a baby elephants at the roadside!! They wanted to take photo of it, but a guy walked out from the back of the elephant and asked them for money to buy fruits for the elephants. Then they quickly flee!

Wahhhhhhhh!!!
I am damn sad!

Why are they so lucky?
They should just at least take a photo and let me see lor!

Next stop: Reclining Buddha

On the way there... Traffic jams and there are many monument of their king along the way. Super cool!

The magnificent Reclining Buddha:

Its gigantic!

Look at the heads of the two tourist, it is even smaller than the toes of the Buddha.
Told you... Its gigantic.

I cant help "wowing" when I entered the temple.

Anw, you have to pay 50bahts for admission fee and we didn't coz it was not written clearly and no one check your tickets too.

The foot of the Buddha is made of Mother of pearl. How cool is that!

A small statue beside the reclining buddha and there were lotsa gold leaf sticked on to it, by the tourist I assume.

The back of the buddha, still magnificent!

The deity who guard the door. They have to be intimidating to scare away all the demons right? Haa...

When we were taking photo, a guard from the temple came and asked us for the ticket, when he found out we nv purchase, he chased us out. Hahaha... Super paiseh!

We gave Grand palace and Wat Arun a missed bcoz we were too hungry.

Then we took a taxi to MBK to have Japanese lunch.
The taxi driver who surprisingly speaks rather good English said that he will take us to MBK with 50Bahts only. So cheap isn't it and MBK isn't that near anw! But he had a condition, which is to take us to this International Gems gallery, the one that came to Spore b4 and you have to pay to get in and we are not obliged to buy anything. By doing that, he could get a stamp from the Government, which I think he can earn some commission by bringing tourist there.

We just have to go in, stroll around 10mins and go back to the taxi and he will drive us to MBK.
So why not right?
Then when we reached we agreed on 10mins and see him at the car park.

But we went in for 30mins.
--__--
Bought a Blue gemstone necklace that cost $700 sing dollars.

The blue gemstone. Mei bu mei??

They got the red gemstone in the same design but I think the blue one is much more elegant.
The sale girls there could speak multiple languages, so they will ask you which country you are from and speak your country's language. Super professional eh. And they sticked to you like chewing gum, at first they show you the good gems then the lousy one. Making sure you see why the good gems are so expensive bcoz the good gems are really really pretty!!

And also bought 2 ear rings, made of gems but its those non- pure gems and cost only S$5.
I love anything but diamonds. Hee...
Diamonds kill innocent pple!

Then after half an hour we went out, the taxi was still there. Quite surprising eh. I think he could earn commission if he brings tourists there and he could earn another commission if we buy something. Bcoz when we went in, they started registering the car number, if not he wun wait so long right?

Then off we go MBK.
But we didn't have Japanese lunch coz the stupid auntie told us the food court was nice thus we went up to the food court. Again, you have to change cash into coupons, damn sickening. The food there was horrible and not cheap. We finished our food as quickly as possible and left for Starbucks.

We couldn't find the starbucks from the directory thus settled at this STARS coffee cafe.
The ice chocolate was really HEAVEN!!

Love every bits of it. But the white choco cake doesn't taste like choco.

After that, we walked around MBK but doesn't find anything suitable for us. I saw a fake Loewe doctor bag that is so much like a real one, then the cock-up sales person came out to "assist" me.

Being curious so I just asked her the price, she quoted me 9000bahts, S$450, I was like, "RIDICULOUS!" Then the sales person showed me more cock-up face thus I left, feeling that the world is toooo ridiculous. I din know fake designer stuff's price has inflated so much.

I wanted to buy something for the girls and I spotted those "little miss something" t-shirt that they will like but another cock-up sale person quoted me 400bahts, S$20. Ridiculous eh. I asked her for discount. She just shaked her head, either is she didn't know what is "discounts" or there is no discounts. But isn't that ridiculous when a fake "little miss something" tshirt costs so much.

Being a little angry at their "products" and the sale person's attitude, I went in Baskins Robbin.

And ordered 5 different flavours, Choco peppermint, strawberry cheesecake, Chocolate, Chocolate chip and Oreo cheesecake. S$7 only leh. Cheap! Remember I once blog about the stupid Baskins Robbin in KL being expensive and lousy service? In Bangkok, its totally different.
After that, we bought donuts from Mister Donut and Dunkins Donut for tmr breakfast. We even bought the same kind of donuts so we can sorta compare which is beta. The result is Mister Donut but but but, Taiwan Mister donut is still the best! Hee...

By then, I was soooooooooo tired. I fell asleep in KFC. I hope nobody see me there. Super embarrassing and the staffs din even chase me out. Thanksfully man!

At dinner, we decided to go for expensive fine dining to spend all the Thai Bahts we had. We settled on the an Italian restaurant near our hotel. Those beside pool side and musician playing piano for the diners. I din take my camera with me thus nv take any photo.

Then we walked back to our hotel, we took a series of photo of the bars and clubs.

Oh no no. This is my hotel, Le Fenix. Very pretty eh?
The 3rd level is a wine bar.

Anw, we received a msg from Su Zhen that they missed their flight.
You cant help rolling your eyes man.

At first, they put their lugguage at our room but at 6.45pm they are still in our room packing and when I asked them the time of their flight, they din really tell me but said on their way soon. After they left for like 45mins, they msg us that they missed the flight. And their flight is at 7.45pm leh. So clever right??

I tot we have to get to the airport 2hrs earlier than our flight time. And this is not singapore, the airport is not few steps away.

In the end, I told them to check with other airline for last min tickets, it should be cheaper and *GASP*, they din bring ANY credit card or ATM card.

Disaster right?

In the end, they told their singaporean relative to book the next morning flight with Jetstar and cost like S$300+.

With $300+ and their original jetstar tickets fee, they could take SIA liao ok.
And if you take SIA and missed your flight, they will arrange a next earliest flight w/o any charges!

And if you got urself travel insurance, they are able to subsidise part of the tix but -_- they didn't buy any insurance. -_- !!-_-!! -_-!!

So lesson learnt:
Get to the airport much much early if you are taking the budget airline
And buy ur travel insurance even if it is a short flight!!

In the end, they stayed at the airport for 7hrs till the next morning flight.
Wahhhahahaha... So ke lian!!
